Rath Yatra of ISKON in Kolkata, India.
In the monsoon session the RATH YATRA is being taken place by the Hindu Religious people of India. This falls in the month of Asar(June)according to Bengali calender every year. It is said that Lord Jagannath visits with his brother Balaram and sister Suvadra to his maternal ants palace from his temple. On his way they travel in chariot which is pulled by people to acquire holiness.
ALOK REKHAY to which I am attached has organised it's 6th exhibition from 30th May to 5th June 2009 in the New South "B" Gallery of Academy of Fine Arts, Kolkata. In the exhibition a portfolio of mine comprising ISKON'S RATH YATRA at Kokata in the year 2008 is included. These 10 pictures are included in the portfolio.
Bhutan is a different country and friendly to India. We visited Bhutan in May 2008. Bhutan is costly but having very friendly behavior from it's people. It is situated in north of India and adjacent to Tibet. The country is on the lap of Himalaya.

In the month of Asar(June) according to Bengali Calender Hindu people perform the Rath Yatra Festival in most part of India specially in Eastern Part. It is a religious function to Hindu people.
It is said that Lord Jagannath arrives on earth with his brother Balaram and sister Subhadra to go to hes maternal anty's house. While going he goes in a chariot which is pulled by the people to acquire holiness.
ALOK REKHAY, an organisation of photographers to which I am attached recently organised it's 5th exhibition in the New South "B" Gallery of Academy of Fine Arts, Kolkata from 30th May to 05th June 2009.
These 10 photographs taken during the Rath(Chariot) Yatra(Movement) conducted by ISKON, KOLKATA in the year 2008 were on display in the exhibition.

On the occassion of ALOK REKHAY'S 7th members' exhibition a BENGALI calendar is published. 12 photographs of our 12 members are used in 12 months. Each photographs depicts a place of interest, ie, travelling place. My photograph titled GADDISAR LAKE as shown above is placed in the 1st month BAISAKH of the year 1417.
They Can Fly
From 7th to 9th January 2011 ALOK REKHAY organized it's 9th exhibition at Gananendra Pradasshashala(Calcutta Information Centre), Kolkata. There were 72 pictures of ALOK REKHAY'S 16 members were on display. Out of these 7 of my pictures under the Caption "THEY CAN FLY" were there. All these pictures are of Birds, and were taken different parts of West Bengal, a state of INDIA. First Picture titled "Destination Known" is given hereunder.

"Play With Fire"
From 25th to 31st August 2011 at Academy of Fine Arts, Kolkata Alok Rekhay organised it's 10th members' Photography Exposition as a part of the KOLKATA PHOTOGRAPHY FESTIVAL 2011 celebrating The World Photography Day. The Exhibition was dedicated to India's legendary master Photo Artist Sri Benu Sen. In the exhibition the following pictures of mine were in display under the title "Play With Fire". Pictures were taken at night on the day before the last day of Bengali Calender when a Bengali Festival "The Marriage of Sandeswar" takes place. Lord Sandeswar marrys Lilavati Devi. The pictures depicts the joy of the people before the marriage.

THEY CAN FLY(9th Members' Exhibition of ALOK REKHAY)
From 7th to 9th January 2011 ALOK REKHAY organized it's 9th Exhibition in Gaganendra Pradarshashala (Calcutta Information Centre) Kolkata. 72 pictures of it's 16 members were on display. Out of those 7 of mine under the Captioned "THEY CAN FLY" were exhibited. All those were the pictures of Birds that were taken in various parts of West Bengal, a state of INDIA. The first picture titled "Destination Known" is placed below. This was taken in Cooch Behar.

This was the last picture of mine of the exhibition which was shoot in Kolkata.
To make the exhibition memorable, ALOK REKHAY published an English Calendar in conjunction with a friendly company. My picture titled "EVENING LIGHT" was placed in the month of May, which happens to be my Birth Month. The picture was taken in a Tribal Village of Madhukunda of Purulia District of West Bengal. Incidentally the Calendar that was published was 2nd such by ALOK REKHAY.

Desert Climb
I have likings for desert activities. During my visit to deserts of India I do regularly take desert pictures. The photograph titled "Desert Climb" one of such. This picture has awarded with a Honourable Mention with FIAP RIBBON in Monochrome Section of ACTA DEL HI CERTAMEN INTERNACIONAL DE FOTOGRAFIA "mALLORCA-2009" with FIAP Patronage NO.2009/092.
